Watch the world’s business leaders make the case for more women in leadership roles. It will take a few seconds for the debate to begin.

Who was most convincing? Why?
How do conversations and decisions change with more women in the room?

Linda Tarr-Whelan, author of Women Lead the Way, was the keynote speaker at last Friday’s Women in Business conference here in Charleston, SC. She promotes the “30% Solution” – 30% of corporate decision-maker seats are filled by women. The first half of her book (which I’ve been devouring this weekend) presents the business case why this level is the tipping point for business and societal success. The second half of the book outlines specific steps women can/must take to close the female leadership gap. A very thoughtful and compelling read!
Jane – The book sounds great and is on my list. Your excitement about the conference is coming across the ether and it’s contagious. I am committing to be at one soon.
Linda Tarr-Whelan and I are singing the same tune – 30% and the Rule of 3 are about equal given there are usually around 8-12 in a typical leadership group. The speed to the tipping point is rapidly increasing and women will be sought after as leaders. Get ready and please tell all the savvy women you know to do the same.
